Import Product Development Assistant

Show Me Your Mumu has an immediate opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic Import Product Development Assistant to join our team.

Major Responsibilities
  • Setting up, and updating detailed Tech Packs for Denim and Outerwear, Sweater, and
    Embroidery IMPORT groups with detailed and accurate CADS with construction call outs
  • Participate and prepare for weekly design meetings by organizing all boards
  • Creating and maintaining seasonal CADS and line sheets along with daily CAD updates
  • Sourcing of new fabric and trims by season
  • Responsible for lab dip send outs
  • Daily communication and tracking with vendors 
  • Attend weekly fittings along with BOM updates as needed
  • Work closely with Designer, Development Coordinator and Pattern makers to hand off
    new Development Styles
  • Assist with initial costing
  • Actively participate and take detailed notes in meetings
  • Research trends and bring in new ideas through competitive shopping, magazines,
    websites, and runway shows
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications
  • Import Design experience (DENIM experience is required)
  • 2-3 years PD or Design experience
  • Associate or BA in Product Development or Design
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Photoshop, & Illustrator
  • Strong and fast paced CAD skills
  • Able to work collaboratively as a team player within the department and cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented and multi-tasking abilities
  • Knowledgeable of basic body measurements
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Embroidery/Graphic Design knowledge is a plus
  • Previous embroidery design is not required but the ideal candidate must have a basic
    understanding of garment construction and a good eye for design
